Since the introduction of  Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ hospitals, institutional care and medical and behavioural facilities continue to buy both the SureGuard® Safety Restraint Chair and the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™.  Based on the feedback, a new chair has been developed for all of these environments. It is called the SoftGuard® Safety Restraint Chair and has attributes of both existing chair models.

SoftGuard® Safety Restraint Chair - features soft, non-locking restraint straps.

Specifications of a Full-Sized Model:

• One-piece box steel welded frame for long life and durability
• Handles people from 80 lbs. to 400 lbs.
• Chair weighs 80 lbs.
• Chair dimensions: 45-1/2” long by 28-1/2” wide by 42” high (fits through a standard 30” wide door)
• Extra padded back and seat for softer, more comfortable restraining period
  • Full coverage back as in the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™, just extra padded
  • Seat as on Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ and the SureGuard® Safety Restraint Chair, just extra padded
• Heavy duty 8” diameter wheels with a rated capacity of 350 lbs. each
• 2” wide extra long nylon wrist straps (12” longer) than the SureGuard® Safety Restraint Chair
• 2” wide extra long nylon ankle straps (24” longer) than the SureGuard® Safety Restraint Chair
• 18” Hook ‘n Loop soft restraint straps at the elbow for secure restraint of the patients while providing maximum comfort like both the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ and the SureGuard® Safety Restraint Chair
• Non-locking restraint mechanisms at the ankle, wrist, lap, and shoulder harness straps for quick release in the event of a medical emergency
• Memory foam headrest as on the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ reduces chances of head injuries and provides greater comfort
• Bolt end covers (acorn nuts) on the exposed bolt ends under the Arm Rests to reduce the risk of injury as on the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™
• Full coverage high density polypropylene skid plate beneath the foot plate for ease of chair/patient movement as on the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ (not intended for transport).
• Parking brakes on wheels keep the chair in place during the restraint process
• Shoulder straps do not cross the chest and therefore do not restrict breathing
• Keeps patient and medical staff SAFE humanely!

• Chair dimensions: 45-1/2” long by 26-1/2” wide by 42” high (fits through a standard 28” wide door)
• 16” Hook ‘n Loop soft restraint straps at the elbow for secure restraint of the patients while providing maximum comfort like both the Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ and the SureGuard® Safety Restraint Chair
• All other specifications are identical between the two chair sizes.
